Selfridges & co, Woo!

On the 28th of February 2012 Y5 went to a special session at selfridge's unique library where they learnt three amazing stories and a VERY catchy song. In this unique library there were many, many things to look at,(like ipads and typewriters), things to read (like books and posters) and stuff to have fun with in general!

HELPING THE WINTER SHELTER

On Thursday the 26th of January we went to a homeless shelter.

We went to help set up beds and tables for the homeless people.

When we got there we got our books out and started  asking the questions that we had written at school.

Father Patrick and Damien answered them for us.

Then we got into  5 groups of 5 and some layed out beds and the others set up the tables.

The homeless people got a toothbrush, a warm cosy bed and delicous food.

When we were about to go, Daimien started playing the organ while we finished  our questions and  then got our coats on and left with a smile on our faces.

ILLUMINATED SUCCESS!

We have finished our solar system quilt. Lotte Collett, Elizabeth's mum, helped us to make our success.

We started by getting all the materials ready and then we chose our section to do. Then Lotte showed us how to sew, so we could make our brilliant quilt.

It took a couple of weeks, but with the help of 28 children and 2 adults + an amazing sewer, it was worth the time.
